Title: Tainted

Summary: For the most part, she ignores those unfaithful mortals.

She doesn't pay attention to mortals. She hasn't for years. All she needs is the thrill of the hunt, the wind rushing by as she runs with her hounds, and the pale light of her sacred moon shining down upon her. She doesn't need the unfaithful love of mortals. They are nothing.

The mortals don't need her anymore, don't acknowledge her, and so she has no need of them. It was they that scorned her, and so she never mingles with them. There was no need of it. They were to be ignored.

Until the day they taint her sacred ground. They step on her moon, leave their marks all over it, impale their flag into her ground, steal away bits and pieces of it. They defile the moon, defile her. She is hunting a deer when it happens, and the buck runs away as she collapses to the ground.

She bleeds as they stab her with their liberty, as they carve out chunks of her for their reason, as they taint her purity. She curses them, these mortals who no longer know their place, who have broken her father's promise, who have violated her sacred grounds.
