recipe for gertrude; Collapse | ♀Gertrude
Dec. 17th, 2009 05:55 pmTitle: Collapse
Character: ♀Gertrude
Summary: She will make it real.
Disclaimer: I don't own Recipe for Gertrude.
Notes: Yeah. I don't know either. Major spoilers for the ending of the manga. And this is about the other Gertrude, not the main character.
Collapse
She is her and her is she and she doesn't know where she begins and where her ends and she just—
screams and breaks apart and she's (they're) completely (in) out of control.
*
Claude.
She (they) struggle against their (her) blood-stained bonds, screaming for completion. Then they break, and she (they) rush forward and finally, finally (nothing) everything's going as planned.
*
She loves her sister. She loves her dearly, more then anything else in the world. There is no one more precious to her, no one more perfect or dear. Even as her own body falls apart, she clings to that love, to that bond.
She will make it real.
*
Her sister loves Claude. She can see it with every smile, every gesture, every laugh she makes. Her love pours through until everything around her is filled with it.
She can't bring herself to believe that any human, no matter how brilliant, is worthy of that love.
*
He shows her that creature, that patchwork thing he made. Maybe other girls would be repulsed, disgusted with the creator for attempting to make such a thing, but she is completely entranced. Here is the solution. Here is the answer.
Here is her salvation.
*
He speaks kind words to her, empty of that terrible pity and full of sincerity. She can see how her sister can love him, how he can be worthy of her perfect sister's love.
She will take him with them, for her sister's sake.
For her sake.
*
They will be perfect. Powerful, free of her body's constraints, and whole. The three of them, together.
Forever.
*
One hundred years pass.
*
Then he's here, and she (they) push aside that wrongwrongwrong person and he's so close that she (they) can taste it and finally they will be—
(in)complete.
*
She's gone. Her sister is gone. Claude was never there.
Not really.
*
It's over.
