Aug. 30th, 2007 06:58 pmTitle: Insanity
Pairing: Kagome/Kanna, mentions of Kagome/Inuyasha
Summary: Subconciously, she knew she must have looked like a frightened animal. And in some ways, she was.
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha in any shape or form.
Insanity
She made her way through the trees, branches scraping against her arms and legs, leaving long red marks. She panted, hurrying as fast as she could. Emotions, many, some named, some not, swirled within the core of her being. Heat burned against her eyes, and her legs screamed at her to stop (Please, stop before you collaspe!)
She didn't listen.
She broke through into a clearing, face pale, eyes wide. Subconciously, she knew she must have looked like a frightened animal. And in some ways, she was. (You're a deer caught in the headlights, you're rushing to death, stop, stop!)
The heat burning against her blue eyes formed into liquid and fell as she stumbled through the clearing, feeling now soft grasses and flowers (That little girl, the one with Sesshomaru, she loves these, doesn't she? Why don't you go there instead?) brushing against her sore legs. The panic grew with each step, her breathing more erratic.
In the midst of her panic, fear, maybe even insanity, all those emotions, and more, she paused.
And saw her. (No, oh no, stop, this is your last chance!)
She tumbled over, and held the girl against her chest, tightly, the girl with hair so much like Inuyasha's (Oh yes, silver and pretty like his, except it isn't), the girl who was her enemy, and cried silently.
No words were spoken, as they both knew.
(This is insanity, this is wrong, you're betraying him, didn't you love him!?)
Pressing her against her, tightly, feeling the edge of the mirror pressing into her ribs, the softness her of skin against her cheek, breathing in the essence that was her, she knew, they knew.
And there they sat, in the clearing, silent, quiet.
Because, with them, no words were needed to convey what they had to say.
