end of the year meme 2011
Jan. 18th, 2012 11:44 amThis is late, I know, but I have my reasons.
Disney Twisted Princesses
Immersion (Ao3 link here)
Hana to Akuma/Puella Magi Madoka Magica
One Simple Wish
Harry Potter
Beyond the Moment
By the Shores of the Sea
Stirred, Not Shaken
Harvest Moon
goodbyes at summer's end
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Monsters Under the Bed
Pokemon
Forever, And Everything In-Between
Scarves & Snowflakes (posted later)
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Less. Way less. This year was awful, writing-wise. I started a lot, and finished little.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2011?
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was a surprise-- I knew that I would love it, but I didn't expect to write fic for it. I didn't even know that Puella Magi Madoka Magica existed back in January, but that drabble was more about Hana to Akuma than Puella Magi Madoka Magica, so I don't think that one counts as much.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest. Probably goodbyes at summer's end. It's the only one I still like just as much as I did when I finished it.
Most Fun To Write: Again, goodbyes at summer's end. The words just flowed so naturally.
Favorite To Read: Either goodbyes at summer's end or Forever, And Everything In-Between.
Greatest Sense Of Accomplishment: Again, either goodbyes at summer's end or Forever, And Everything In-Between.
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
Immersion (which I have not posted yet to this community) was an experiment in a darker kind of story than I usually write. I was very surprised at the popularity of that one, so apparently it did turn out well, although I personally felt like it was fail!dark.
Do you have any fanfic or profilic goals for the new year?
I hate how pathetic this meme is this year. 2011 was a great year, just not in terms of writing. I need to write more in 2012, so it won't look so awful when I do this meme again.
