With A Mocking Laugh

He chuckles, and she narrows her eyes at the sound. It was too dark, too foreboding, and she whispers, harshly, "You're not Edward."

The smile is a bit too pleased, a bit too malicious, as it widens. "They never realized I wasn't you," he mutters, almost approvingly, to himself.

She scowls, and her eyes demand to know. What did you do to him?, they demand to know. Another chuckle is let loose.

"Oh, don't worry...I didn't injure them too much."

She reaches out to strike, the metal of her wrench glinting, and then he's there, pressing her against the wall. Her arm now hangs loosely at her sides, the tool dropped to the dirt below.

And he's not Ed, she can feel that with the mocking way he kisses her, in how the sharp edges of her teeth feel against her tongue, and yet—

It's strange how hurt she feels as he tosses her to the ground with a final laugh.
